Today I met with director-composer Jennifer Bell, who specialises in oratorios and sung a-cappella in close-harmony. Her project, ‘Mouthpiece’ that I heard about through the BBC 3 radio show ‘Word of mouth,’ is one of the founding inspirations and reasons why I have chosen to write for a choir. ‘Mouthpiece’ is a series of song portraits that depict the lives of the people who work at the Houses of Parliament; bringing the historic building to life. From talking today, the message of what I want to communicate has been made clear:

Through all the stories and organisations that I will write about, Interpreting and the Interpreters create a global community by using Interpretation as a tool for peace; or at least tolerance and acceptance.
